A short time ago, my sister-from-another-mister and her family welcomed their fourth addition to the Jobin family, George Phillip. I was absolutely honored to be asked to take his newborn photos. They wanted something simple - which is my favorite because you get to focus on all the little details, so I was more than happy to oblige the request!
A couple of cold Saturdays ago, they brought their newly numbered family of six over to my house and we setup in my living room. I took my one-year-old's mattress from her crib to set George on, setup a light, and went to the races! As is pretty typical of newborn shoots, a lot of time was spent getting George comfortable. We set him down, he cried. We fed him, he cried. We changed him, he cried. I rocked him to sleep, I cried and then set him down and he cried. It was a whole experience, for sure! Eventually he took a nice long 30-50 minute nap after a costume change and we were lucky to get SO MANY great shots. Little details, full lengths, and even some of mom and dad taking care of the little champ.
I think the best part was seeing how calm and experienced parents of four kids can really be. As is true of many - but not all - this was second nature to them and at the very least, their even temperament to all of George's temporary unease probably helped him along the process. Those two are wonderful parents and I can't thank them enough for the opportunity to photograph their first son!
Enjoy some of my favorite photos from the session!
