Pet photography may not be my everyday thing, but every time I do a shoot for a pet I have an absolute blast. Josie is an amazing pup that I had the opportunity to photograph with her dog-mom and my sis-in-law, Stephanie the other day. It was bright and early, barely any clouds in the sky, and Josie was a ball of pure chaotic energy. It was wonderful.
As we all know, pit bulls have a pretty bad reputation in large part due to the way their owners treat and handle them. If you train them right, show them compassion, and do what you can to stay ahead of negative and harmful behaviors, pits can be the same level of lovable, cuddly, playful, and fun dog display by any other breed out there. Josie is very energetic and has a big frame, but boy is she playful and Stephanie is fully cognizant of when to remove Josie from social situations.
Josie loves to play fetch. She needs to make sure everyone around is near and not left behind. She loves a good belly rub. And she's the best reminder that treated and approached correctly, big "scary" dogs can be just as great a pet as any other breed out there.
Kudos to Stephanie for doing a wonderful job caring for Josie and thank you for having me photograph you and your wonderful doggo.
